This bridge is one of three that cross over the Menominee River at Miscauno Island.
Miscauno Island is a very scenic and remote island located about 15 miles from Pembine, Wisconsin.
The other bridges, the West Bridge and the West Bridge are all very similar in design, and were built at the same time.
Fortunately, the Four Seasons Resort purchased the land in 1938 and converted the railroad bridges to serve cars.
In 2016, the bridge is in very good condition, however it does lie on private property. The photos above were acquired with permission.
The bridge is a 5 panel, pin connected Pratt Through Truss. It sits on concrete substructures.
The bridge has been rated as regional significance by the author, due to the fact that it is one of only four surviving bridges from the Wisconsin & Michigan Railroad. The excellent preservation and unique structural details also contributed to this.
